Not an artist, or unsure about your writing skills, but still want to take part in the Feel Our Hearts campaign? This might just be the option for you! In order to show Kyoto Animation just how much we love supporting the Free! series, we’ve decided to collect photographs of everyone’s merchandise collection! It doesn’t matter if it’s just one or a hundred items—what matters is showing KyoAni that we’re willing to buy goods with Haruka & Rin’s faces and/or perfect bodies on them!
Submission Rules:
❤ Official merchandise only. No bootlegs or fan-created items allowed. If you’re unsure about a certain piece, please contact the crew, and we will gladly doublecheck for you.
❤ The campaign is Haruka & Rin-centric. While goods that include other Free! characters (posters, clearfiles, etc.) will not be rejected, please keep this in mind while selecting what items to photograph.
❤ All submissions must be family friendly/G-rated. No kisses/suggestive/explicit content allowed. Yes, even if they’re manjuu!
❤ Please focus on merchandise that is (or was) readily available from online/physical stores. This includes AmiAmi, HobbySearch, CDJapan, etc. Unfortunately, we have to ask that merchandise exclusive to the KyoAni shop is kept to a minimum whenever possible, as it should technically not be available internationally through conventional means. If you have any questions about this rule, don’t hesitate to contact us.
❤ With regards to the above rule, and given the reason why this campaign originated in the first place: the only exception is the Haruka & Rin Mook—as it was available for pre-order through CDJapan.
Pictures will be featured in our website gallery for everyone to see. The link will be forwarded to KyoAni along with the scrapbook, so please keep that in mind while submitting your photographs!
But there’s more! If you wish to have your picture featured in the scrapbook, there are a few extra rules to consider:
❤ Max size is 13×18 cm / roughly 5×7 inches. (And 300 dpi resolution for digital submissions). Restricted to one photo per person (for the scrapbook; BUT there is no restriction on how many photos you submit for our online galleries). Keep in mind that you are restricted to one submission to the scrapbook per person altogether, so if you decide to send us a photo, you will not be able to also send fanart or a message. (This can be however circumvented by also sending in a postcard!)
❤ The deadline to get your submissions sent in will be December 1st. This means all submissions must arrive at the designated address BEFORE December 1st!
❤ Photographs submitted for the scrapbook must be printed and mailed to the crew. [The mailing address will be sent to participants at a later date.]
❤ The composition must be creative! This means no straightforward collection photos, or selfies— make sure your picture conveys the theme of gratitude of this campaign! Check out our gallery to see examples of creative ways to use and pose your merch!
❤ Consider taking your picture in front of a well-known landmark so as to give the picture, and the campaign, the international touch we’re aiming for!
❤ There are currently 92 slots available in the scrapbook, but we’ve already planned ways to create more space according to everyone’s response! So please take your time, every single submission we receive will be featured in the end!
